Capital

Our remit is to focus on evolving markets, where we facilitate local growth and capital needs with international investment, but in a suitably controlled and structured way such that both entrepreneur (access to capital, financial control, governance) and investor (commercial feasibility, risk mitigation, acceptable terms) needs are met.

There are various definitions of what is meant by evolving markets, however the most pragmatic view is they are defined by a low/middle income, as well as having an underdeveloped capital market. Evolving Asia itself is characterised by increasing export manufacturing centres and commodity driven economies.

As these economies develop, there tends to be a significant reliance on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to provide the typical peripheral goods and services which support the ancillary sectors of the economy. SMEs play a vital role in a country’s economy as they grease the larger economic wheel through job creation, retail access across all sectors and drive economic progress. Of major challenge however is the ability of local banks and institutions to assist in the financing needs of the SME sector, whether due to regulatory restrictions or a more narrow banking focus and lack of SME expertise. This is where Regan Capital is focused and believes we can contribute best.

Our approach to identifying and evaluating potential opportunities is effected from within, where we work with local entrepreneurs to facilitate providing capital for their needs and structure the transactions to comply with particular investment profiles required by international investors. This entails extensive due diligence (asset identification, legal review, proof of ownership, potential sovereign risk etc), optimisation of future cashflow (source, location, tenor, profile) and ownership structure.

Our investor client base primarily comprises pioneer investors, particularly Private Equity, Family Offices and specialised funds.

The industry sectors we are most focused on include the following:

  • • MINING
  • • URBANISATION
  • • SUSTAINABILITY
  • • TECHNOLOGY
  • • CAPITAL MARKETS
